FRIDAY

1. Warm-up Quiz:
Quoting and Paraphrasing  in APA

Article: How to Avoide Plagarism. John Baker, page #3

In essence, when you quote or paraphrase from somebody else's work without citing it, you are
plagiarizing their work. Plagiarism is a serious matter, and could result in a lower or failing grade and even in your expulsion from university. Just rewording your work isn't enough to avoid plagiarism. Since you are still borrowing information heavily from another writer, you still need to include a citation.

2. APA
Cover the Basics to APA with this HANDOUT
Tell the students that they can reference a complete guide to APA HERE.  Do not go through the whole PPT. Show them the side on headings and the basics to the other parts such as references. They need to follow the model given to them by UCA I strongly recommend that they use OWL Purdue website for their writing questions.

3. Survey Peer Review #2
Show the students how to make a table and use it for their surveys

Group students together for a final round of peer review.

4. Discussion on carrying out instrument
Have students write out a sample email in Spanish or English that asks permission to carry out instrument. Have them read/share with the class correcting where necessary. They need to be in the process of carrying out their instrument

This next part could be moved to next week.
5. Presentation Homework
Go over directions for their final presentation. You have to practice. It has to be under 9 minutes.
Presentation directions:

Lecture: How to give a good Presentation
Presentation Language PPT
Presentation Langauge Handout
Visual Aids PPT

Make Class time to show students their current grades
